About The Collingwood Brewery
One of the things we love most about The Collingwood Brewery is their love of our local community. They strive to capture that relaxed, laid-back vibe of the Georgian Bay area in each and every beer that comes out of their brewery - and they have just the head brewer to do it!
Chris Freeman is the head brewer and co-founder of The Collingwood Brewery. After graduating from Niagara College's first Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management cohort, he spent some time learning to make lagers over at Creemore Springs Brewery. From there, he decided to move his family to Collingwood and open up The Collingwood Brewery with his trusted partners. And now, many years and awards later, he's still doing what he loves alongside the best production team, sales manager, and retail manager out there: making and selling great beer (and singing. He's a great singer too)!
So, what kinds of beer has Chris and his team been working on over at The Collingwood Brewery? We're going to go over some of their current offerings that fall into 2 categories: Core Beers and the LCBO Freestyle Series. Now, on to the beer!
Core Beers
The Collingwood Brewery's Core Beers are the ones they're always brewing - none of these will be going away anytime soon! Here are some of the highlights from this line:
White's Bay
This is one of those award-winning beers we've been talking about - a gold medal winner, in fact! At 6.1% ABV and 45 IBU, you'll find their golden-hued White's Bay IPA to have both fruity and floral notes.
Downhill
If you prefer more of an American Pale Ale, then you'll love their full-flavoured Downhill beer. With 5.4% ABV, 33 IBU, and distinct citrus notes, this ale is sure to please.
LCBO Freestyle Series
Looking for a beer that's a little more eclectic? Then try one from their LCBO Freestyle Series! These are only available on a rotating basis, so be sure to keep your eye out at your local LCBO!
Skadi
AT 7.2% ABV and 70 IBU, the Skadi is the perfect choice for strong beer lovers! Packed with Amarillo, Cascade, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, this IPA gives you that extra kick you've been looking for.
Double Chocolate Milkshake Porter
Does a rich, smooth, and creamy beer sound good to you? Then give their Double Chocolate Milkshake Porter a try! This one has 5.5% ABV and 44 IBU, and is made with oats, cocoa, and lactose. You probably haven't had one like this before!
